Qingkou Sports Center is the only national-level sports venue in Qingkou Town, Minhou County. The project consists of two stadiums: a multi-purpose gymnasium and a swimming pool. The exterior walls of both structures are made of white ETFE air cushions, and the ETFE membrane structure covers the space between the two stadiums.

As one of the competition venues for the National Urban Games, the design of Qingkou Sports Center incorporates modern elements, consisting of two wheel-shaped stadiums, symbolizing the parallel development of Mercedes-Benz and Southeast Motor, two automobile manufacturers located in Qingkou Town.

The swimming pool consists of 60 ETFE air cushions, and the multi-purpose gymnasium consists of 80 ETFE air cushions. Each air cushion is pressed with 7 polyethylene ropes to create a three-dimensional effect. The overall shape resembles hundreds of "engine cylinders," embodying powerful energy and providing a superior sensory experience for the audience. It also showcases the unique regional culture of the "Southeast Automobile City."

The span ratio of ETFE air cushions is typically between 1/8 and 1/10. To achieve a three-dimensional architectural effect, an exceptionally large span ratio of 1/6 must be used for the outer layer of the ETFE air cushion, posing a significant challenge to its manufacturing.
