Qingdao Maritime Carnival is located in the Phoenix Island Tourist Resort Area of Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone, north of Tangdao Bay, south of Binhai Avenue, east of Longquan River, south of China University of Petroleum, and west of the Chahe River estuary. It covers a total area of approximately 524 acres (approximately 350,000 square meters), with a total building area of approximately 760,000 square meters.

The Maritime Carnival project mainly comprises three parts: the "Maritime Carnival" themed around water recreation, the "Fisherman's Wharf Pedestrian Commercial Street" themed around a carnival festival, and the upscale coastal international community "Haiwan Mansion". The architectural design integrates membrane structures, ensuring that each individual membrane structure has a distinct style. While providing sun and rain protection, the podium buildings are connected by membrane structures, making the commercial street a unified whole.

The project consists of three independent membrane structure shells: A, B, and C.

The structure in Zone A is 66 meters long, 46 meters wide, and 24 meters high. The roof is a single-layer mesh shell composed of rectangular tubes, covered with 27 long, single-layer ETFE membrane units. Each membrane unit is approximately 46 meters long and 2.5 meters wide. Zone B is approximately 80 meters long and wide, with a shell composed of a truss system supported by 6 sets of lattice columns. The highest point of the shell is approximately 33 meters, and the lowest point is approximately 15 meters. Forty-four single-layer ETFE membrane units of varying sizes and shapes are laid on top of the truss system. Zone C is approximately 67 meters long and 52 meters wide, with a shell composed of a truss system supported by 4 sets of lattice columns. The highest point of the shell is approximately 41 meters. Forty-eight single-layer ETFE membrane units of varying sizes and shapes are laid on top of the truss system. The entire project utilizes transparent ETFE membrane material with dotted coatings. Due to the relatively low strength of ETFE, each single layer is reinforced with a large number of cable nets to constrain the membrane surface. The spacing between parallel cables is controlled to be less than 1.5 meters, and the total number of cables used exceeds 500. The combination of cables and single-layer ETFE membranes makes the tops of the three membrane structures appear clean and transparent, allowing light and visual transmission, perfectly integrating them into the overall carnival system.
